Infection Prevention and Control Canada (IPAC Canada) is pleased to announce registration is now open for our 2025 Hybrid National Education Conference (June 1 - 4, 2025) at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. You are hereby invited to attend the ORNAC Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will be held virtually on April 18, 2026 at 1:30 PM (EST).
The AGM is an important opportunity to engage in the governance of ORNAC, review the past year, and participate in key organizational decisions.
PLEASE NOTE:
- The AGM is open to members only.
- Registration is required to attend. A unique access link will be sent to you upon registration. Deadline to register: April 15, 2026 at 5:00 PM EST.
- Registration for the Virtual Education Day does NOT register you for the AGM. A separate registration link is required.

We are excited to welcome our keynote speaker, Diane Salter, from the Healthy Workforce Institute, who will present: Empowered, Caring and Engaged: A Roadmap for Today’s Nursing Workforce.
This keynote will be followed by Christy Simpson, Associate Professor in the Department of Bioethics, Faculty of Medicine-Dalhousie University, presenting on: Moral Distress: Navigating the Ethical Complexities of Care.

With GLP‑1 receptor agonists now widely prescribed for the management of diabetes and obesity, perioperative teams are encountering new and important questions regarding gastric emptying, aspiration risk, and whether these agents should be withheld prior to surgery. This session is designed to bring clarity to a rapidly evolving area of perioperative care by reviewing the latest evidence and offering actionable, clinically grounded guidance.
